I called in a debt of an old friend. he owed me for work i da done installing telephone lines and jacks in his house when it was built. he offered, instead of cash, a springfield mil-spec. i was wanting one of these guns anyway. in fact i was currently trying to trade a glock for one, now i have sold the glock, AND got the springfield. it's a great day!

hello all
today i recently found a used browning bt gold stalker 3.5 at a local gun shop, and bought it for the price of 585. it is spotless and looks brand new. They also had a remington 11-87 for about 25 dollers cheaper, but i went with the gold because the rem. was only a 3 inch. did i make the right decision?? thanks

I am so excited, I just got the gun I have been waiting for since April. It's a Remington 7400 Weathermaster 30-06. It is a 7400 with a nickel plated barrel and receiver. Also has synthetic stock and chrome mag. I bought a Leupold Vari-X II 3-9-50mm. (By the way, the 50mm objective is a HUGE difference from the 40mm objective). Anyway I am excited to go and get some whitetails in a few weeks. I will post some pictures maybe. The guys at the gun shop were pretty impressed with the gun, I guess barely any were made amd they never seen anything like it. 0 -
I just bought a Glock model 30 .45acp and took it out on the range yesterday. Ill tell ya what, I was impressed with it. For a bigger caliber the .45 (at least this gun) had low recoil and to boot the factory mags hold 10 rounds, which is a lot for a compact. I have shot a few 40 cals and do not know why they are soooo popular. They have a lot of snap to them. It seems as though the .45's recoil pushes directly back on your wrist, making it much easier to absorb the shock and the 40 snaps up. With the new high capasity 45's on the market, why not get the bigger caliber? I would recomend the Glock 30 compact to anyone. Everyone whom I shown it to says it fits in your hand like a glove, more so then the glock 26 and 27's, which you have to buy a mag extension just to shoot it right. 0 -

Well I was in a new to me gunshop today. They had Ruger LCP's for $300 so I said what the heck--plus he actually had .380 ammo too. Ended up with the basic black-they had what I assume is a nickel slide version but it was $30 more. Only thing he didn't have was a holster. I know some folks just dump them in a pocket so maybe I'll just get a cheapie pocket holster--I really like the Mitch Rosen LCP holster for sale on Ruger's website--anyone have one? I know Galco makes one as does Fobus--not really into Kydex though.
Those of you who own one, do you use the flat magazine base or the finger extenstion one? Ammo being used is the Hornady Critical Defense load--noted in the owners manual that +p is not recommended which is fine as that is not a huge issue for me.0 -
I leave in about 25-35 minutes to pick up that PA-63 that i was talking about in earlier threads. 100 bucks and hes giving me two mags for it. i wanted to trade him some 7.62x39 ammo for some 9x18 ammo, but he told me he sold his AK and no longer need it[}:)] but as soon as i get back, ill post some pictures. I dont want to see GIT-R-Done's gunny picture! 0 -
can we not buy a new gun with the Government shutdown[?][?][?] 0 -
I just purchased a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail in .45acp. 4.25-inch barrel, stainless. "NIB" but the gunshop takes them in and out of a display case daily and managed to make a small chip on one of the grips! For this they knocked $20 of the sale price.
Out the door for $901.
Somebody's going to demand images and I don't have any, but here's a link to a review with plenty images and a movie. http://www.gunblast.com/DanWesson-CommanderClassic.htm
I REALLY like the feel of the bobtail grip. Gotta wait a week before I can pick it up and play with it.
How'd I do?0 -
On impulse bought a Daisy BB gun yesterday. Has a Daisy scope.
Spent the entire evening ridding the yard of a 'problem" tin can and various leaves, pine cones and anything else that I didn't like the looks of[^].

i was at the local gun shop today and i spotted an hk usp pistol , i talked to Fred (gunshop owner, good friend of my family) about it and he said that it was the only one he ever had in his store, so i did him a favor and bought it . I paid about 600 dollars for it ( i would post pictures but i don't own a camera , my girlfriend has one,but she'd kill me if i touched hers.)so did i get a good deal ? btw its a .40 caliber ,but i wish it would have been a .45.tell me what you guys think. are they reliable, i know its an hk so it has to be good ,right ? also has anyone seen a civilian version of the G-36 rifle ? do they make a civilian version? 0 -
Just bought a sig 226 9mm from an old boy down the road. got it at a real price. Is a really nice shootin iron. the boy also has a dan wesson patriot 1911 45 for sale for 500. I love 1911's, currently have 2 kimbers. i am always looking for another good 1911, but i don't know anything about the dan wesson patriot. have heard dan wesson is a real gun, have never shot one. anyone know anything about them.[?]

well my dad picked up a new gun 2 days ago...and he would like to know if he got an ok deal. its a brazilian made 7x57 bolt rifle with machilinner(sp?) stock and tasco 4x scope. what about is it worth? also, whats the caliber close to(ballistics, recoil, performance)? 0 -
Just bought a new gun today, a beretta px4 storm .40. Also looked at a glock, springfield, browning, cz, colt and para.
To me the px4 fit my hand better than the rest and the cost was less than half of the colt and para.
Would have loved to buy on GUNBROKER but all three gun stores in my area (CA) want over 100.00+ for ffl fees.
Any review feed back welcomed.

Picked up my new carry gun today--Taurus 850/CIA in shadow gray .38spl. Bought it from a fantastic gun shop in Elma, WA -Eastcounty Guns. They even threw in a free HKS speedloader. I had a bunch of semi wadcutter ammo at home but I picked up some Hornady 140 grain JHP and a Blackhawk Speed Classic holster. I tried a Galco with a paddle but I did not care for it as the darn holster would come up out of my pants when I tried to draw even with my belt tightend.0 -
I just made a deal with a guy and i feel so stupid,,i think i got the short end of the stick on this deal. I traded my yamaha yz125 worth about $1000 for a benelli super nova turkey. he told me it was worth close to what i was asking for my dirt bike. i took his word for it and thopught to my self..."yeah benellis are worth $1000" just looked on the auction side and cant find one over $500[:(!]And the bad thing is i delivered it and he lived two hours away. Boy did I learn my lesson![xx(]

Stainless like the one pictured?
I likes stainless ... she's purdy.
I don't know about the price but If she handles as good as she looks you'll have a mighty fine shootin iron there!0 -
...Nice gun.
Almost bought a Pointman Seven. A very nice gun with a ton of standard "extras", like all Wolfe Springs, etc. They seem to be quite a bit of gun for the buck, lots of "custom" features.
The Bobtail looks awesome and feels even better.
I had a friend that had a Pointman and the only problem was that they are fitted so tight that his took a lot of rounds before it would cycle 100%...frame to slide tolerances were super tight...get out the molly and tetra!...[8D]

price? I don't know. construction? looks schweet. like they said,
"The most obvious thing to distinguish the Bobtail from the plethora of other 1911 pistols on the market is the unique shape of the mainspring housing area at the bottom rear of the frame. It has been chopped at an angle and rounded off to provide one of the best feeling pistol grips that I have ever held."
that's what I was thinking when I saw that chunky, rounded grip... but what matters is what your hands tell you when you grip it. if you get it and it feels right, you did good. if it feels wrong, you screwed up.
also, those trijicon sights look an awful lot like Novak sights of yore, I've been fond of those for years. they should work well.
reliability, grip, and sights are the three most important things you needd to hit a target, in that order. they suit everybody different and you'll find out how they suit you after you try it for a while.
btw, gunblast.com is a good online rag too.0 -
