I was in a grade school a few days ago and noticed some student work posted in the hall way. This first one caught my eye for some reason.



So I snapped a picture of all of them to read later. This next one would like segregated schools and for everyone to have $1000 per week.



And this one wants to let every one vote:



This kid wants to shut down all the drug stores:



This one thinks our high crime rate makes our country look bad:



What's a "Gofener" ? ah perhaps Governor



Let's encourage people to make healthy choices:



I bet they sent this one to the counselor:



Global warming is killing polar bears?



This kid has good penmanship:



Stop the war:



I think this guy ran out of room but it could be interpreted that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Frankenstein:

  These are third grade kids in relatively small town in the heart of the corn belt.

  My first thought is that third graders should write better than that. Beyond that point, these are young children from what ever background. Most of their comments are not wrong. Why do we endanger out health with tobacco & alcohol (and litter bothers them -- not bad, it bothers me). Our backgrounds, our rearing, our addictions (mine included).
  
  One child talked about no guns. If the adults in the US were as progun (at least not antigun) as these children, we on this forum would not face the issues that we face. Just my humble opinion.

  Them kids need Hooked on Phonics.
  
  When my kids were in school it use to piss me off royally when the kids were suppose to write something and they could hardly spell one word correctly. My wife told me that the teachers only require it to sound correct, that spelling didn't matter. It caused a fight, cause I told her that those kids won't have a chance in hell when they grow up, if that's the way they're spelling.

  Actually, yes. Global warming is killing polar bears. Not directly, but they are dying due to the loss of accessible food sources.
