British describe their captivity

The article goes on to say that they were apparently not allowed to speak to each other.
And "a lot of mind games" were played on them.
And they were threatened with seven years in jail for trespassing.

I watched their press conference and I thought their treatment was basically acceptable. Their detention was illegal but their treatment didnt sound out of line. 0 -
I think the Iranians knew where to draw the line (obviously not on a map, that's for damned sure). Had they tortured or phyically harmed any of those people, they would have bombed the living hell outta Tehran just for starters.
Still, I'm reminded of the good cop/bad cop scene in "There's Something About Mary."0 -

I haven't really been following this story that well, seems like more stupid posturing between the US and Iran.
I could easily believe its just Iran posturing again (remember their ridiculous claims about their military hardware a while back?) just to p1$$ us off because (everyone knows) they hate us.
Given the talk of military action against Iran, I could also easily believe they were in Iranian waters, attempting to provoke, do recon, or something else. Our governments (US/brits) may have purposely sent them right to the border or just over it. Sure our governments claim they were well outside iranian waters, but I don't necessarily believe everything the government tells me.
I really don't know what actually happened, nor do I really care.
The bottom line is it is just posturing to the other side because of political issues relating to Iran's nuclear program. Their nuclear program is probably posturing towards US because they see a large military just across the border, that if mobilized, could decimate them in a matter of weeks(assuming our military abandoned peacekeeping efforts in iraq)
The issue really isn't about whose waters they were in.0 -
