Neighbor's friend shot himself in the hand
One of our neighbors came over to tell me about an accident his friend had at the range today. It appears that he forgot to put his 9mm Cobra double barrel derringer on half cock and engage the safety before loading it. When he closed the barrels and latched it, he shot himself in the hand. Ouch! [:0]
I've actually read about this type of accident with double barrel derringers like Davis, Cobra, RG and American. I'm always surprised to see someone place the palm of their hand over the muzzle when closing one. If you're not familiar with safe handling of a derringer, there not safe. [B)]

I agree. I showed a derringer to a friend and he said "That's what I've been looking for, for my wife" I quickly educated him that they are not for the untrained. I also know someone who shot and loaded one several times before learing this. You should of seen his face when I told him.[:0] 0 -

This goes for any firearm. How many people have heard of someone having an AD "clearing the chamber" prior to cleaning a gun? Or function-testing a gun with a loaded mag by mistake?0 -
There is NO excuse. 0 -
You either have had one, or you will have one.
