Back from the muffler shop.
Having some work done to the Taurus today, I'm all excited.

I had them eliminate my third cat and resonator, replace everything from the behind the Y-pipe with 2 1/2 custom bent tubing, and install a high flow stainless steel fully welded muffler. They welded all of the joints and the only split in the system is the collector flange between the Y-pipe and the rest of the system. The car has a great, very subtle growl. Get this, without that third cat, engine performance is improved and my gas millage has gone up another mile or so per gallon. 0 -
How did you find out you MPG in 7 hours 30 min and 36 seconds. and have time to have the muffler installed?? 0 -
It took them about two hours to do the work and I've basically been driving it around since then enjoying the new sound and improved performance. 0 -

I bought it damn near brand new. It has not gone up in value. On the other hand, all of this extra work makes it my Taurus, separating it from all of the grocery getters out there. So, if you're ever in Minot and see a white Taurus with a spoiler on the trunk, it might not be exactly what you think. It's no barn burner, but it's no slouch. 0 -

My first car was an 89 Taurus. I bought it in 2000 for $1350. I put no upgrades on it and drove it into a utility truck and a semi in 2003. I got 1300 for the car from insurance, plus a thousand for getting hurt, and my medical bills covered, plus pay for the work I missed. 0 -
A spoiler on a front wheel drive? What's the purpose? I guess it makes a bigger handle on the trunk when you load the groceries.[:D] 0 -

In one fell swoop you confessed to getting a auto repair facility to violate federal emmisions laws, spent a bunch of money to lower the value of your car, and wasted a bunch of gas, just to stroke your ego.

Not to burst your bubble, but the car has two catylitic converters sill on it, that third one was there so it could pass Cali emission requirements. Second, it only cost $145 for the work. Also, my gas milage has gone up 2 miles per gallon at 80 mph. I don't care about resale value because it is a Taurus. You want one, buy your own. 0 -

Front drivers still need alittle down force on the tail end, just not as much as a rear driver. I doubt that it's even functional. I confess that it's there for just looks and that's why I bought a Taurus with the spoiler, to seperate it from the rest of the pack.0 -
