    if you miss the gun will knock you out so you wont feel the elephant stomping you to death.[:D]

    I've heard that, too, but after shooting some big bores and owning a Win. 458 ... I seriously doubt that. Nobody I know - and I've got some pretty beefy shootin' friends, with good strong grips ... but none that could possibly hold on to a 600 Nitro Express, in the hand gun flavor, sending it's 1000gn bullet @ 8900 foot pounds (muzzle) @ 2000 fps down range! That's 196 foot pounds recoil. That's TWICE the recoil of a beefy .45-70 load! I don't think so.

    ... but then I could be wrong - as I was in 1972 - forgot why, though.[:D]

    Can you find proof as to the claim? I can't.

    The barrel was a custom made contender barrel chambered in 600NE. I can't provide the "proof" that I know you want (sorry) but that's what it is
