what the heck was that flying overhead ??

today at about 2:30pm i heard a very very loud airplane flying overheard. i looked up and saw what basically looked like a normal 767 or similiar. it was at about 35,000 to 45,000 feet and making a good sizes vapor trail. it was moving FAST and was extremly loud. i seriously doubt it was a passenger plane as they never make that much noise, especially from so high.
it was flying over the greater los angeles area, out towards the ocean. the underside looked white.

any ideas ?

    have no idea what was in LA but at about 12:15 CT some thing came over us here in WI that was loud and fast , i didn't even have time to get outside to see what it was before it was gone , it had to be big for all the noise it was making

    i dont think the airbus has actualyl started making the route yet. also, are those things that loud ? this thing was making some serious noise !!

    Once or twice a month a C130 (recognize the sound) runs the mountain ridge behind my house at 200' AGL. Gone before I can get to a window for a visual. Found out it is a TFR exercise out of either Stewart (SWF) or Schenectady (SCH). Always day/VFR flights. Joe

    I know when I drive with my windows open it's a lot louder, perhaps the pilot was doing the same.

    The sound of 8 4360s at full load is quite attention-getting.

    If I want to hear a screamer I'll call I'll call Janet Sarchinski. She was the yankee girl that moved here when we were in highschool. Her passions were not as refined as our genteel southern girls.
