No affiliation at all. Got shafted by PayPal in the past and ProPay wouldn't up my account due to the "Nature of my Business".

Heres my problem with them.
First paragraph from their user aggrement:
"To verify your GearPay.com account, we will withdraw 2 random amounts, not to exceed $1.00 each, from your bank account. Both of these withdrawals are non-refundable and are the only fee you will be charged to sign up."
I have a problem with anyone withdrawing directly from my account.

I use paypal with a credit card, I will not give anyone access to a bank account. Even if they are completely honest, and they probably are, they can still be hacked. It has happend to Pay Pal and many banks and credit card companies. A fraudulent use of my credit card does not cost me, If someone drains my bank account, it is gone. End of discussion.

I do everything online with a NETSPEND Mastercard. It is a prepaid credit card. I only deposit what I am going to spend on it. Total security that way. No traceing to any other accout, and if someone wants to try and get into that account there is no money in it. When I go to use it I deposit only the amount I need.

Doesn't GB withdraw $1.00 from your CC to make sure? Although I will admit the 'random amounts' withdrawn make me worry a little.
This is one rule I'm happy to live by if I sign with them.

Gunbroker does exactly the same thing if you want to sell on here. If you change your bank account, they do it again. What's the big deal? It's called "verificatio".

does anybody worry about waking up one morning and your paypal account has poofed into thin air? it is not guaranteed by FDIC or anything?...well if that is scary paypal running into financial trouble, I would darn be scared of a fly-by-night like gearpay?

Gearpay and similar companies have a major Anti-trust suit going against Ebay for their monopolizing of paypal...
Gearpay look pretty damn legit to me... I have seen ir recommended on several auctions and on several forums!!!
Besides if you draw from zero liabilty Credit Cards what is the risk....hell some bank accts can now be set up so you have to log in and approve your online payments...they notify you by email you log in to your bank and approve!!! it will be the norm in a year or two and bye bye paypal!!!

Ummmm... Ok, you might want to check on the facts before making statements. In fact I do worry that my money in paypal account could go POOF very easily. (In fact many people have had there paypal accounts FROZEN for up to months at a time.Paypal has move their operations off-shore to avoid US Banking and Financial Regulations]
GEARPAY IS in fact in the USA and utilizes FDIC insured Banking Instituions for it's customers funds.
I urge ALL Gun owners, Sportsman and all those who believe that the 2nd Amendment means what it says to join www.Gearpay.com right now!
