AUTHENTIC KRIS KNIVES..2-300 yrs. old HELP!!!
...Ok, a friend of mine has had these for 30+ years, they are AUTHENTIC, I can vouch for that...they were grave dug, I can vouch for that too, (and don't rag me for digging graves, cultural anthropology was my major, a physical anthropologist was the one that dug these) and that practice is outlawed now. Sorry, Java culture was not my thing, and the physical anthropologist that dug these is not around for me to pick is brain, else I would.
They came from Java. They are in excellent shape, considering their older than dirt. Very cool looking. Problem is, all the info I can find refers to the modern repro ninja poop off the ninja wanna be sites, nothing about the real ones.
...The curvy one sure looks like it would leave a nasty mark! [8D]
..The Filipinos copied them, and similar ones are/were found throughout Indonesia.
SPRYOR anyone(?) know anything about these other than their from Java? ANY and all help would be much appreciated. My crappy pics don't really show it but, at least one of the blades is damascus steel, and the other looks as if it was "hammered" as if done by a blacksmith...and one of scabbards is one piece!
Considereing what tools they had to work with back then, that, is a feat in itself! Thanks in advance ya'll...[;)]
