NEED HELP! I AM DEBATING WHETHER TO BUY OLDER MODEL 700 BDL RIFLE (1967) OR A NEW ONE (2009). THE OLDER MODEL IS IN LIKE-NEW CONDITION. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE OLDER MODEL 700 BDL RIFLE BEFORE I BUY. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

A blue steel and walnut K frame has the finest action ever hung on a handgun from the factory.

And, desiring to have the best of something makes you old how???

The old K frame is much sexier than any L frame ever built. Look at its' lines, feel the weight and the smoothness of the action. Look at that gorgeous, deep blue.

Come on... you KNOW the right decision.

I am a young guy and I like the Blue and Wood better myself[^][:p][:D]

And, when that stainless is just a ho-hum gun in 20 years, people will still delight in the classic beauty of blue steel and walnut.

Another vote for the blue k frame. What a sweetie![:)]
Besides, I cant stand those ugly azz black rubber grips. Bought a set of Pachmiers(sp?) 20 years ago for my model 66. Put them on and tried them. They worked real good. I took them right back off and haven't had them on since.

No, that means you have matured and developed a discriminating taste for beauty. Let's see, blue steel and wood or sameness stainless with a rubber?

I have one stainless handgun. I got a Ruger SBH with the intention of hauling it around riverbottoms to hunt hogs. I knew it'd get used and abused. Every other handgun I've owned has been blue. I think it just looks right.

I to would have to go with the K frame. Blued steel is so wonderful to behold when mixed with natural wood.

Where do you get old out of this choice you must be a young kid. I like the blued one best everybody needs several of those. Damn straight.

I agree with Doug! The K Frames look the best. Just beautiful lines and they way they balance in your hands is sweet. I have had many over the years and just let them slip through my fingers. Hindsight is so clear!

The only thing I have left is a Model 65 stainless 4" ladysmith.

    The follies our our youth.

I can say that because I've had a couple gallons of follies, myself.
