Great Americans
Let me tell you a story about one of the greatest Americans I know. He was born in the Philippines in 1927. As a young boy he and his brothers fought against the Japanese during WWII, 4 of his 5 brothers were killed by the Japanese during the war. He was so thankful that America came and liberated his country. So thankful in fact that he said goodbye to his family and gave away the land he inherited from his brothers and he moved to San Diego. The first thing he did was to learn English and to become an American citizen. He then joined and spent 25 years in the U.S. Navy just to say thank you.
He never taught his family how to speak tagolog and refused to have anything to do with his past, after all he was an American now. To this day he is a hard core conservative who openly despises any person who lives off the government because you always make your own way. That man is 1PO Edwin D. Quino, USN Ret. and I married his granddaughter. He might not be an Anglo-Saxon-Germanic type, but he is one of the greatest Americans I have ever met.

I've met man, many in the Navy here in San Diego.
