4 AM Pacific Daylight War Time...

Not up early, STILL up.

A lot of wind and rain has upset my heroic Perfect Dog Gretchen. She shakes, and pants, and whines. I stay up when this happens, cause I know that she is just an animal that doesn't understand the funny noises.

She pushes up against me and seems to feel a little better.

Gretch is the one closest to the camera.

    I've had two hunting dogs, the one I have now and the one we put down last year.

    Both enjoy the sounds of gunfire.

    Both are terrified of thunder.

    Go figure.

    She dumped my Jello and whipped cream on my shirt about half an hour ago, and then proceeded to try to clean my shirt with her nose.

    Thank you for calling my attention to this. I will go wash the shirt, at once.

    Amazing how a loyal and loving friend like that would happily lay down her life in a bear attack or some other tragedy just to save you, yet is completely turned to mush at the sound of thunder.
