What happens if the Constitution is changed ??

This is interesting.

If the Constitution and Bill of Rights are fundamentally changed, would those who had taken Oaths to the old Document and ideals, need to take a NEW oath to the new Constitution ??

Would the new Constitution be considered to have been sworn to by those people RETROACTIVELY ??

What of those who refused to take the new Oath ??

Would they be summarily discharged from the Armed Services, and would civilian "sworn" officials be terminated ??

Boy, the fallout from that might be rather earth-shaking.(intentional pun)

    Nope! If the majority decides to make the changes you talk about then the people will adapt! Liberal progressives that are driving this PC movement need these changes to float their true agenda.

    A handfull of us older grumps will whine and complain, maybe a few will self distruct and shoot themselves in the foot. As America turns its face into a uneducated third world haven for immigrants and multiculturism folks might be willing to accept any new rules as a trade off for more free goodies at the public trough.

    This is a long way off in my opinion, Doug you and I will be toast before this happens, but the younger folks will have to face some interesting times.

    my question would be what changes would be affected to the Constitution...what would be added or omitted...and who would affect those changes? I know Congress and the Supreme Court would be involved, but to what end would it serve to change it so dramatically that it would change the way of life in the US? Would it become a more liberal document or conservative? Would it become more socialist? if so would we be annexed by a larger government like russia or china? if more conservative, would it then become a more capitalist country where business set the tone for economics and health care...not to mention other social programs like S.S., welfare and the like....

    uh...my head hurts.....

    I suppose they would eliminate the part that made slavery legal &
    that declared Negros to be counted as only 2/3rds of a person.
    There are in fact a large number of changes that could be made without changing anything. The Income tax, election of Senators for example.

    Individuals can ignore it all they want to. It's a free country and they are not bound by it.

    However; when the entire Government ignores it from the lowest bureaucrat to the Commander in Chief, the Senate and Congress you have a BIG problem.

    To answer your question, the oath is still effective, as it is still the Constitution, and it says right there in the document it is subject to change. Civilians who don't like it can resign, as can commisioned officers. Enlisted members of the military are under contract and still have to serve their terms. Hope that helps

    The answer will lie within each person. If the majority 'voted' to amend the Constitution, giving the Beast sole discretion on the use of force..(Amended Second, say) then One would have to decide if he was willing to live in such an insane condition.

    Were he not...he would have two choices. Fight or flight.

    Because the instant the vote was announced...THAT would then be the law of the land. All those that belonged to the Beast...military, police, ect...would merely enforce the laws as given...no new 'Oath' needed.

    Again, it takes a substantial agreement amongst the liars and thieves to change the Constitution. 2/3 of both US house and Senate must pass any amendment bill, then it goes to the states where 3/4 of them must ratify it. The secular-progressive liberals would need to gain quite a bit more power before it could happen.

    I don't seriously believe a constitutional ammendment 'eliminating private gun ownership' would get ratified in my OR my childrens' lifetimes. The knockleheads in Washington know that, too. More likely, there would be a Homeland Security worthy event that would necessitate 'temporary' surrender of firearms in order to facilitate identification of the bad guys.

    An overwhelming majority of gun owners, who have them for hunting or were passed down from earlier generations, would voluntarily surrender at least MOST of their guns. This would take years and there would be financial incentives. Many would give them up entirely.......but not the crooks.

    We would then be faced with a choice of defending ourselves and facing the legal consequences or succombing to the brutality of the emboldened criminal element. This reality would force stricter measures be taken by government agencies 'for our own protection.' You would see patrols where they have not been, before. Citizens would be required to have documentation to travel and perhaps even to be out at night.

    All that would be required, is the 'authorities' violently taking down a small number of citizens for breaking the gun laws. This would subdue the vast majority of remaining gun owners. What would be left, would be a neuscance that would be hunted and rooted out.

    The ONLY thing that saves us all, from this is...................
