First Pistol

Turn the magical number in a few days and I am trying to find a pistol to buy it would be easier if i were not strapped for cash and I wasnt so damn pickey. I want to be completly satisfied. Not just anyone will do. Think i would like a 59 series s&w but any s&w semi auto would do. 9mm would be nice but you know maybe i should wait a bit and just get a 22 for now cheaper ammo. [;)]

    1911 or a .22 of some sort. The Beretta Neos is pretty good.

    Try a RIA 1911 .45. They are great shooters and the price is very good at about $350 NIB.

    I have 6 of them and 3 more will be here very soon.

    I have never had a single issue with them.

    And with another $300 you can get a .22 conversion and then almost be like haveing 2 guns as you can switch back and forth.

    I like the Ruger line of 22s and the Browning 22's until you get ready for a bigger one. Wally world sells Federal 22 shells 550 for around 10 bucks and you can pratice alot.The more you shoot the better you will get and like it.[:D][:p][:0]

    It's kind of a cosmetic thing too. Pretty hung up on S&W autos but not quite brand blind. If I do buy one I had better get somthing with Hi cap because that way I ll have one no matter what.

    I would recommend a revolver. But, If you are getting a semi-auto, I'd recommend something cheap and simple like a Mac-10, They've been selling NIB for $400 at the Gun Shows around here.

    First pistola? I's go with either a S&W 41 or Ruger .22 in the target version. Cheap to shoot and get handling down with before you step up to a centerfire.

    My first was a Ruger Blackhawk. That is the one and only gun I have ever sold. I regret selling it but, it is still in the family. I no longer sell, only buy guns.

    9mm (i would stay away from all smiths but the M&P)

    I would go with a Ruger 22 auto with bull barrel. Just a ton of fun, accurate and could be a good protection pistol in a home.

    If you are looking for a carry self defense firearm that a different story. There are a lot of used pistols in 9mm available at a good large volume gun shop for a low price.

    I prefer 45 acp for carry in the woods or a dangerous part of the city but that said I usually have my little kel-tec 380 P3AT. Cost $274.

    mrseatle & imahusker have the right idea. I suggest a .22 revolver - probably a Ruger Single Six Convertible .22/,22 Mag. or a Blackhawk .357/.38 Special.

    If you want a double action, look at Taurus and maybe Rossi.

    It is often a poor idea to have a semi-auto as your first handgun, even though they look cool on TV and in the movies.
