Cement Mixers

I need to pour a 50' sidewalk and a few other small concrete projects and have been looking at getting a small mixer.
I have done quite a bit of concrete work from small jobs to over 200 yrd pour parking lots so I am not a begginer in concrete work and I have also used the small mixers when I was a teenager working for fence companies.
I just think a mixer would come in handy at my place.

Any recomendations>
I know the best thing to do is call the truck out but I was wondering if a 50' x 3' pour is possible with a small mixer. I have sand and gravel plant down the road and would buy the cement in bags and then just mix in the sand and gravel.

    40 cu' =10 loads in a mixer =5/6 bags of cement depending on location/weather.so priceof mixer+ cement $250?

    just have the truck come, unless you want to save $ on forms and make them 4cu' to pour one a day for 10 days.

    i think Nations Rent at Lowes has cement mixers for rent. They rent out a lot of equipment like that.

    I looked at those and by the time the project would be done I think the rental price would almost equal the buy price.

    One reason I would like to mix my own is I don't want to be in a hurry and rental items tend to hurry me so I can get them back.

    I would just think that due to the time it would take to mix, you would get cracking between different mixes.

    Unless it will tear up the yard I would get a truck.
