Local Fourm ??
Every forum that I post on has some form of regional area that would keep local members in contact with other local members.. preview
The good side to it that the local infomation could provide. local Clubs/Groups, Ranges, and monthly get togethers and shoot guns, what is better than that? ..etc.
The bad side is that not everyone would be available to post to the topic, unless they choose that region.
Any thoughts on this? Or would you guys think it would work?

To Henry0Reilly, I see the benefit of that kind of posting, If I want only " Jacksonville, FL," and local cities people to create a club or gathering or should Someone post a subject only addressed to lets say the southeast. Wouldn't a local forum be convenient?

Never met one (and I've met, and managed, a bunch of 'em) that didn't think whatever was happening shouldn't have the benifit of his/her redirection.
We have no desire to implement the revisions you suggest in your post. We have found ways to cope.

I belong to a couple forums with subforums divided up by geographic areas.
In my experience they don't get much traffic other than the overpopulated states usually have some blowhards who hang out in one.
Personally I don't care for the sites with a whole page of forums. A big reason I like GB is they keep it short and sweet, although the forum list has grown over the past few years it is still much shorter than some.
Those forums who try and apease everybody with a forum for every rhyme and reason suckle pretty bad. They usually don't have the membership to support such a vast array of subforums and the forums appear DEAD cause their posts are spread out so much.
On the other hand, there is a forum I post on with a bagillion members and they only have a couple subforums. Things move so fast there you have to do a search to find a topic you just posted on an hour ago. GB don't move that fast. I think it is just about right the way it is set up-other than the attitudes of some of the mods that is.
As for the guys who are giving you crap about suggesting a new forum idea just tell em to go pound sand in their azz and move on-they expect it. Got to have a thick hide to hang out here without getting offended.0 -
