things to do before summer
This past weekend at the local gun show, I saw a guy get declined for a purchase he wanted, while I filled out the form and took home my CZ, all because I have a CHL and he didn't. Folks, if you don't have a license in a `shall-issue' state, it isn't that hard to get one. Spend $100 and a Saturday or Sunday, and you can get your CHL. You'll also meet some new friends, and you'll get to do a lot of shooting. What could be better?
Are you traveling this summer and carrying to protect yourself and your family? Do you know the laws of every state you're traveling through? Get your CHL and see how many states have reciprocity agreements with your home state. I can travel from Texas to Virginia without worrying about being arrested/cited or having my gun confiscated.
If you enjoy guns, before the summer arrives, you should:
Join the NRA,
Join your local gun owners association (or more than one),
Get your concealed license, and
Add another trophy to your gun safe.
Oh yeah, you'll also PO Charlie Schumer and the other gun-haters. Another plus!

If I had to spend a saturday or sunday and a hundred bucks to get a concealed carry permit I would spend my summer getting the law changed.
We are shall issue and it costs less than $10. Walk in pay the money and walk away with the permit.0 -
Thankfully Indiana just started issuing lifetime CCL. It costs around $125 but you never have to worry about it expiring. Unfortunatley, I just renewed mine last summer so I've still got 3 more years to go to get one. 0 -
With any luck, you'll save the money by dieing by then.
