Driving drunk- a fun idea
No, no,not what you think from the title. [:D]
The thread on the doctor got me thinking. It would be very instructive if local police departments would set up an obstacle course on private ground, closed track- traffic cones, sharp turns, etc., an open lot with cones in it in other words- and let anyone who thinks that 'they can handle it' come out and run that track in their own car, drunk. The only stipulation: they must have a designated driver with them to bring them and take them home.
I saw a vid on this in driver's ed, but I know a lot of folks wouldn't believe it about themselves if they didn't try it- heck I BELIEVE it but would like to try it myself in a closed, safe environment and see just how bad bad would be.
Not that I think that it will happen- liability and so forth- but it would be humbling to a lot of he-men-in-their-own-minds to show them that no, they aren't immune.

Maybe they could use those drivers-ed cars with the dual brake pedals incase the driver was really blitzed. 0 -
i have seen this done. actually it was a group of cops that was doing it. they had a closed course and a drivers ed car and were bombed. definatley funny 0 -

It used to be done on a pretty regular basis in the parking lot at the Rose Bowl.
I did it, once.
I am not a good drunk driver.
