He wasn't overly articulate in trying to get his point across. It is important to understand however, that trying to explain a "radical" concept like oppressive government, run with a nefarious agenda and who tries to tie his actions to that "pesky Constitution" that only crazy people espouse, is a difficult proposition at best.
Now put yourself in a position where you have only a couple of minutes to "explain" your beliefs to someone that is completely satisfied with the current government's hold on America and try to explain to that person, or persons, how the founders intended this nation to be as opposed to what we have and ipso facto, you get a guy that comes off as a loon.
H ell, where would you even start to explain what led you to believe that forced taking of earned income is unconstitutional, let alone how a government can be so far astray. The vast majority of citizens are completely ignorant of, or willfully disregard, the US Constitution's Bill of Rights and how they were put in place to "leash" government.
Regardless of his mental state, I'd say he is a patriot at heart, evading what he sees as unconstitutional taxation.
Not knowing much about his background, I have to base this only on the little I have read and seen about him. I for one, am willing to give a freedom loving American, trying to hold government to its limited role, the benefit of the doubt and say he is likely trying to do the right thing.

I agree with the lt.
The man was not mean, he tried to explain his position and was willing to communicate the problem. No one offered to provide him with what he was asking for and what he was asking for was relevant to the case. He wasn't avoiding them or the issue. He wasn't doing any of this in a threatening manner.
Maybe we should elect him.0 -

This all started out over a decade ago with this guy saying he wasn't going to pay taxes because no such law exists. This matter eventually came to court, but during the trial he and his wife jumped bond and holed up in their house.
Now in this video he declares all of "man's law" bogus and says he only follows the rules put forth in the Bible. He says this means he doesn't actually "own" anything because everything in our world belongs only to God. A minute later we hear him saying he intends to utilize his right under state law to prevent criminal trespass on his land and again demanding that someone show him the US law that states he must pay his taxes.
He's no patriot. He's just an opportunistic schemer that got caught cutting corners and is desperate. He and his wife own (owned?) businesses. How much money do you think they pocketed by charging their customers tax on purchases all these years? Apparently stealing from customers didn't conflict with their beliefs.
He's now taking the shotgun approach and wrapping himself in whatever he thinks might yank people's chains to stir up support, even throwing in the "Freemason conspiracy" thing and wearing a tri-corner hat for good measure.
I would say he's a joke, but it pizzes me off because idiots like this give patriots a bad name.0 -

The 16th is settled law. The silly technicalities that keep getting raised have easily and consistently been shown to have had the same, or worse, variations in other amendments that have not been under question simply because they don't involve unpopular issues like a tax amendment does.
If you go back and study Alexander Hamilton (you know, one of those "Founding Father's) and his dissertations and explanations of what constitutes a direct vs. an indirect tax, the question should be over, but it never is for the tinfoil hat crowd. The 16th is legal - not desirable - but legal.
The just too cute for primetime attack that anyone who does not agree with an off the wall concept that is just dead wrong must by definition be a "sheeple", a traitor, or a communist is pure BS.
Guess what folks: wrong is wrong, no matter how much we would like it to be different.
Hamilton described it, it was ruled legal in the 1860's, and it is legal now.
I remember kids who used to say that "if it's my opinion, it's right because I believe it". I always told them that they had the right to believe that solid objects could pass through their bodies without harming them, but don't stand in front of a "semi" to prove it.0 -
I don't think that this guy is any kind of nut. He has strong beliefs, but so do I.
He is doing what we should all be doing - TOGETHER !!
