Man Charged After Fire Destroys Home
Arson Suspect: 'Jesus Asked Me Questions'
LONGWOOD, Fla. -- A 20-year-old man in Longwood is accused of using gasoline to burn down a home under construction early Thursday, according to Seminole County sheriff's deputies.
Police arrested Brandon Yingling after the 7,000-square-foot structure located on Camellia Drive near Lake Brantley was destroyed by flames.
Yingling was asked about the fire after being charged with arson Thursday.
"I don't know," Yingling said. "Jesus asked me all kinds of questions."
The homeowner, Ken Colben, said a neighbor told him the house was burning.
"One of my friends two doors down and frantically told me that my house burned down," Colben said.
Two fire tankers carrying 9,000 gallons of water were dispatched to the scene to help douse the flames.
Several neighbors said they were furious over the fire, saying a hydrant near the area could have possibly saved the structure.
"I can't tell you how long since this fire has been going on and it is still not out," a neighbor said. "It is ridiculous. I don't know if it is the county or who it is who takes care of this problem. Somebody needs to put fire hydrants in this neighborhood. It is not acceptable."
"It is known that there are no fire hydrants here," a fire official said. "That is part of our normal dispatch."
"I think there should have been a fire hydrant here but from what I understand, from the police officers and other people who saw it happen, by the time it was called in, it was so totally engulfed on my mother's side that there wasn't much they could have done. I know my God is bigger than this and we will get through this."
The fire remains under investigation.
There were no injuries in connection with the fire.

what kind of opinion do you need? its obviously the case of a deranged mind where he heard voices.
basic psy 101 would tell us that whenever a person experiences voices, its usually of a unseen authority figure, such as God or a demon or a dead famous person, etc...which always steers the blame away from the person himself.
sounds like an open/shut case of delusional phsycosis.
its bad enough when these ill people hear the voices, dangerous indeed when they obey them.0 -

Earth to BOBSKI!
I was being a little sarcastic with regard to the poofing of all religious threads that don't have either "fact" or "Opinion" stated in them.

I can't state an opinion until I see his shoes..Do they separate the toes and fit each one individually? If not, I wouldn't believe him about talking to god..Al Bundy knows... 0 -

I agree. After all, it's just stupid to believe anything but what we're TOLD to believe, right?
Remember what happened at Rouen? Good thing that crazy bitch was killed, or God Only Knows what kind of weirdness might've erupted...
Those of you who are true to your faith maintain that none of us can actually see God or hear Him. So what if there are a few of us who can? Well, you'd have to label them as insane, or it'd upset the whole religious apple cart.
You have to maintain the order. You have to keep those who're actually able to carry on a dialogue with God (as opposed to the monologue of prayer) ground under the hob-nailed boot of organized religion, or the whole carefully-balanced house of cards comes fluttering down.
I say burn the guy at the stake. It's not only good entertainment, but it'll keep the rest of us from trying to think for ourselves.0 -
