17 Kids, thats just a begining. I was talking to one of my friends last night and he said his grandmother had 22 kids, plus his grandfater was a skirt chaser and had 12 other kids with 7 other gals. Now there is someone who should have been fixed. 0 -
I do not see a problem with having 1, 17, or 30 kids if you can provide for them and give them a healthy environment to grow up. I say, congrats and best wishes. 0 -

the irony is i found that a few days ago on photo bucket, then see this on the news this morning, and did not realize it was them until i made this thread

I have seen them in a few different programs too. They seem to be very happy and provide for their family very well. They are not on any public assistance, but are very smart with their budget. It is none of my business how many kids they choose to have as long as I am not supporting them. I am glad they have that much love to share.0 -

I saw the program on the Discovery channel following them while expecting child #16....they are VERY white bread and church-like. Making the dresses the girls wear and building the home they were planning to move into (that looked like a hotel) themselves. The group went on a "field trip" to see construction workers doing some kind of insulation spray thing.
They seem a little TOO happy....the mom has the WIDE EYED look like she is having an acid trip or something. I have become a little leary of people who don't participate in society in normal terms...and these people seem brain washed like no others I've seen.0 -

My grandad/mom were way behind with only 13 kids!! There were two sets of twins involved. I believe an aunt had two sets of twins and my sis had twins. Thank goodness, my two came one atta time. Tom
PS Big families down south were fairly normal around turn of century. Lots of hands to help farm. Not quite the same now unless they might be South of the border, down Mexico way. Tom0 -

I, too, have seen TV specials about this family. They seem decent, caring and sane, more or less. Zero welfare is involved. My only concern is, whether this family can provide for itself or not, what would happen if everyone decided to have that many kids? The earth's resources simply couldn't handle the demand. 0 -
