Astra A75

Can anyone give me any info on an ASTRA A75 pistol. A DA/SA .45 compact model. Shoots fine. But never had any experience with this maker. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    Astra, spanish made, and like Star was, for a time imported by Interarms, of Alexandria VA.

    Parts are nearly unobtainium. This drives down the prices on them and they can be pretty good guns, at a great price.

    Most of the Astras I've shot seem to be on par with Star. It's rare to have an alloy one, as apparently Spaniards would rather deal with steel.

    Astra and Star are both out of business now.

    I've got maybe 6 factory mags for an A90, which should work.

    Mine was all steel, could be carried cocked and locked, shot very well, and never malfunctioned.

    I don't remember where, why, or when I got rid of it, but I'd buy another if I ran across one. I must have traded it at a gun show.

    It sucks being old.

    There is nothing wrong with Star or Astra,,,,good shooters,,,and I have shot several of each company..nambu

    I bought an alloy A75 in 9mm 10 years ago and liked it so much that I bought 6 more Astra semi's. 5 more A75's, 9mm steel, 2 .40sw steel and 2 .45 steel. Also picked up an A80 .45, which is the early full size. IMO, these pistols are a great Sig copy. I have never had a malfuntion with any of them, and I have put over 2000 rounds through one of the A75 .45's. CDNN used to sell Astra mags for dirt cheap, but those days are long gone.

    I have a A-100 and love it. Mags are expensive. I got the origanal 17 round with it and had to buy another 15 rounder to boot (I like having a spare mag) All in all though, thats alot of ammo to carry.


    Did I mention I really like that Astra? [:D]
