How come you can't get a fast food place to put any onion on your sandwich? If you order it with onion, they will put one ring of a slice of onion on it. If you order it with extra or heavy onions, they will put maybe two rings of a slice of onion. I don't think you can beg or bribe them into putting a slice of onion on your sandwich. I doubt they would put extra onion on it at gunpoint. If I'm forced to eat a fast food sandwich now, I just order it without onion and put my own on it at home.

I told the wife this afternoon I think I'll take a bag of onions to every fast food joint in town and remind them when I order a sandwich, I've got some onion coming. She suggested I just hand them an onion with my order.

Are onions that expensive?

    I hate places that charge to add a condiment[:(!]
    Sometimes I'll add tomatoe or onion and they will add 25-30 cents each
    I don't like pickles or ketchup so I ask to have that left off but they don't charge me less.

    You'd love the Kewpee in Lima Ohio. When you ask for onion, you get onion. You'd have to pick some off so you can taste the burger!

    I think trc nailed it. Most fast food businesses today don't seem to care about pleasing customers by honoring their requests for extras like onions, pickles, etc., People taking orders act as though they do, but quite obviously it's nothing more than lip service. Maybe if we make a scene and sound off loud and clear in the lobby to where others can hear us, "How much do you charge for an extra pickle slice or extra onions? I don't see it on the menu, and you have never put it on when I place my orders in the past." The wife and I like extra onion, particularly on hamburgers, and we have the same problem.

    We ate at Clancy's in Ft. Myers, Fl today. We go there about once a month and when you order a hamburger, you get a real slice of onion on it.

    Plus they have great French Onion Soup!

    If you are in the area, well worth the stop.

    Liquor stores/with BBQ deli are the only way to go for a great sandwich.
    Most of them here ask "what don't you want on it".

    one of the subways in town is that way also, you ask for lettuce, or onion, they go easy, when they ask what next on it, you say "Thats all you people put on it?" they give you a wierd look, and say Yes, thats what were supposed to put on it. Thats when you say "Then you can keep it." and go somewhere else...


    The other subway in town, Golly gee i hear you have to tell them to go light on stuff, they PILE it on!

    $2.50 for 1/3 pound, and they'll make it an onion sandwich with burger, if you want.

    Also, lots of different homemade ice cream, huge nachos, french fried kosher hot dogs, an' the purdi-ist lil counter girlz y'ever did see.

    One of 'em was Miss Teenage America a few years ago - yup, you guessed it, a redhead.

    Did I mention the shakes, malts and fries ??

    Eat yer hearts out.
