Let me guess: the criminal bought his gun illegaly, and he will be allowed to go scott free, since he is a minority, the courts are obviously racist, and they are procecuting him for being not whte...and also he had a tough childhood. (In case you could not tell, I am being sarcastic) 0 -

About 20 years ago I was in a bar and saw one man pull a claw-hammer out from under his coat and try to bludgeon another man to death in a dispute over who's quarter was on the pool table. Race is not the issue.
I have never understood why we allow people to associate in groups that we call "gangs." If it's a gang then the primary purpose of the organization is to facilitate illegal activity and they should not be allowed to exist. Anyone associating with others for the purpose of illegal acts should be imprisoned.
The real problem here is a 14 year old boy who thinks it's OK to hang with criminals and commit criminal acts of vandalism (graffiti). Any spray painting on someone else's property should carry a one year prison sentence. If the graffiti includes gang ID, then the sentence should be five years.
This same boy sees nothing wrong in packing a gun and shooting people in the back for nothing more than insulting him by covering his illegal artwork. He should wear chains on his ankles and make little rocks out of big ones until he dies of old age. Anyone this callous and vicious at such an early age will always be a danger to society IMO.
This is what happens when children are unsupervised and not taught any moral code of behavior. I would put the adults responsible for this child (if there are any) in the adjoining cell.0 -
