Actually, I believe it is time to get out. If the freakin' Iraqi's don't have the balls to take charge, then so be it. They can let their own sandpit country implode on itself.
And while I'm on my rant, GWB has been one big disappointment. I supported him at first, but that idiot has given lipservice and not secured our borders. At his recent trip to Mexico, he let's Calderon dictate our immigration policy to us. Time to go, Georgie boy![:(!]0 -

I'm actually against a withdrawal. I don't advocate staying, either.
I say we withdraw our forces to a new Kurdistan because the Kurds, for all their faults, are willing to stand up and take their lumps beside us, not behind us.
The rest of Iraq can go to Iran for all I care - chances are they won't be able to put a lid on it any better than we have and wouldn't that be a nice bit of payback?[}:)]0 -
I made a decision today to back the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq -
*IF* ALL TROOPS STATIONED IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES ARE BROUGHT HOME AT THE SAME TIME !!!0 -
IMNSHO, we need to keep troops in Iraq indefinitely, and install a Governor, and declare it a U.S. Territory. And, if Syria, Iran, or Lebanon don't toe the mark, we should treat them likewise. 0 -

And the soldiers needed for such an occupation will come from where again? Well, I guess there's always the Coast Guard Auxiliary, we haven't tapped that resource yet.0 -

I like this idea. If they're that determined to kill each other let the folks down south have their civil war; just keep them out of Kurdistan. Of course, the trouble will brew when Iran and Turkey get worried that the Kurds in their countries will want to join Kurdistan and when the Iranians jump in to support the Shiites and Saudi Arabia jumps in to support the Sunnis in the civil war.0 -
Nunn is right. We should form the Iraqis into an American Foriegn Legion on the French model, and use them to extend our military force worldwide.
