Don't post much here but had to share that I just got a call and my M1 carbine is being shipped today!! Been waiting almost three months for it. Most excited.

You know - of all the long guns I have - and I have 2 or 3 - that little
M1 carbine that we have is the most fun to shoot.
I just talked to a guy a year or two ago who landed in Sicily or Normandy
- forget which.doesn't matter - who said the very first thing he did was to
'lose' his M1 and pick up/hang on to the carbine for the rest of his combat
tour ... right on into Germany.
Reflecting on that - I'd done the same thing. They weigh nothing and do just
about anything/everything the heavy Garand can do - except 'reach someone
way, way out there!'
