How many of you suffer from this? I can go a year or two without buying anything firearms related. Then something happens. I will hear a conversation or read a magazine article and the next thing I know I'm in a gun shop. It doesn't stop at one. In the course of a month or two I have about five new items for my collection. Then of course, I work weekends for months to pay everything off. I can't help it! The other day I was looking at a shotgun at a shop, there were three or four of us at the counter. I was looking at a nice old double and I was looking at the barrels. The guy behind me asks "can I see it when you are done?". So what do I do. I catch the owners eye and say " I'll take this". Then, and only then, do I hand it to the other guy so he can take a look. I didn't know I was going to say that. I just came out! Is there any cure? How long does this condition last?

  trucks and guns back and forth,i cant shake it ,nor is there a pill for it,so......i just suffer[:D]

  Get a store....you get to own all kinds of cool things....only one drawback!!!! (you have to sell them)

  Havent' bought *anything* gun related (except 2 boxes of ammo right before hurricane season 3 years ago) since '93. Since May of last year, I've bought 3 new guns, traded off one of my old guns for another new gun, 2000 rounds of 308, 1000 rounds of 45, and 5 or 6 bricks of 22lr. Few more guns are planned for Soon (c'mon side jobs!) as well as a few small safes to keep it all in.

  I get the fever too. I might go a year or two and not buy a firearm but then I'll read an article about a new gun or when one of my friends buys something new I'll start hanging out at the gunstore. Two years ago I bought and sold 4 guns. This year I've bought 2 and was about to buy a third but backed out.

  I'm down to about six per year. But I can quit any time I want... I dont have a problem!.... I dont need no 12 step program! [:(!]

  I give myself a yearly allowance to buy firearms, then Im careful not to spend it up because I could come across a deal on a gun I want.

  I have no ailment like the one you describe.
  
  12 step program says that the first step in the path to recovery is to admit you have a problem. If you deny your problem then, the condition doesn't get any worse either, now does it?
  
  The condition lasts forever. Buy away.
