Prayer, Good Thoughts request, 12-29 UPDATE
My 87 year old mother is in a nice nursing home. Went to see here yesterday, 12-24. Right after I left, she fell. They thought she just bruised her arm. Took her to Selma this morning for x-ray because her shoulder was hurting and arm swollen. My neice called. Mother's arm is broken right at the shoulder. Waiting on an ambulance to transfer her to Tuscaloosa (her orthopedic Dr. is there). Probably have to pin the break. I am fixing to leave going to Tuscaloosa to the ER to meet the ambulance. Please pray for her, that this will heal quickly without complications. Plus she has a bad cold. She is pretty strong, the cold hasn't gotten her down yet.

Well the break was worse. Shattered the shoulder joint. Dr. did surgery this afternoon, rebuilt the head of the humerus. Two hours in surgery. The Dr. said everything went well. Two years ago she broke her left hip, now her left shoulder. I think her re-hab will be long and probably painful. Niece is staying tonight, I will go back tomorrow afternoon, probably for a couple of days.

12-29-07: She had a bad night Thur. night. Dr. found that the shoulder was dislocated. Had to open it back up put everything back in place. Today was a very bad day. Thought she was developing pneumonia, but her lungs are clear. Her heart rythm (sp?) is off, treating that with meds right now. Please keep the prayers coming. I am very tired, going on 36 hours with two short catnaps.

Same thing happened here last week.
Tori's grandpa had a stroke about 2 yrs ago and still doesn't have very good balance.
I got a call @ 4:30 in the morning. He fell, hit his arm and can't get up. I drove over there, he was fine, wasn't having another stroke. I got him up, dressed, and took him to the ER. He broke his shoulder. He's 88 and they cannot repair it.
Poor guy has never had to rely on anyone for help, now he has to.0 -
