Big GUN Giveaway...
TO ME !!
Got to LA last night, and when we got up this morning, Friend Eddie took us (Deanna and m4e) to a gunshop named Lock, Stock snd Basrrel. I was looking at, and handling lasciviously an Enfield Jungle Carbine in .303 Brit. It has seen some pretty serious field wear externally, but inside it was sweet.
While I was engrossed in the weapon, Friend Eddie bought it for me.
I'll post pix as soon as I can. I'm on a rotten dial-up connection. now.
VERY NICE !!

Well, we made it to Sacramento, to my old friend's place. Spent last night here with him, playing some music, and reminiscing to Perfect Daughter Deanna.
Later today we will head for LA, and her Grand Dad's.
Driving has been tough on me. I should have had my torn rotator cuffs operated on before the trip. Can't take serious painkillers and drive.
Deanna drove about 300 miles of the 600 (or so) miles down here. She really helped.
I'll check in when we get Doen there - probably 0100 - 0200 tonight.

Pix are on the agenda. I'll have a chance (maybe) to shoot some of John Rowland - one of the all time great guitar players.
Maybe I'll get some shots of her Grand Dad's firearm colection. He has some fine pieces.
Later,

I don't know how long this friendship has been, but it obviously runs deep. Enjoy that old war-horse. I'm looking forward to the pix. 0 -
My dad has that same rifle. It kicks like a beast. Sometime I'd like to get him the bayonet that goes with it. 0 -

We went to and old timey gun store today named "Bain and Davis". They are famous for the development of the Smith N frame .44/357 Bain & Davis. This is the necked down .44 Magnum case that spits out jacketed 158 grain ..357 slugs from a 6 inch barrel at nearly 2000 FPS. I always wanted one.
Anyway, they had some Pakistani .303 Brit for 12.50/box of 32. Don't know that it was a good deal, but I have several hundred rounds at home, along with about 20, 10 round mags.
Please tell me I did good.

Pix - I'm on dial up here - will put them up on Monday when I get home.
They had it marked at $599, but I know he haggled it down some. The last one I bought was $129, some years ago.
Ammo is Pakistani, non-corrosive, referred to as "magnetic"(???) ammo, non-corrosive.
