No one can clean up that cesspool known as DC until every last one of them leaves office. This kinda crap happens on both sides of the aisle...Dem and Rep take money from less than reputable sources and they know that when they do.

I had an idea that I brought up in Government class last year. We add some amendments to the Constitution:
    - Term limits of two 4 year terms just like the President
    - Must have been a citizen of the state you wish to represent and lived there a minimum of 6 years immediastely preceeding the run for office (military service is an exception)
    - Must not make more than 3 times the gross average income for the state or district you wish to represent. After all, what does a millionaire like Kennedy, Kerry or any others really have in common with the people they are supposed to represent?

Needless to say, I got crap from the professor on those ideas. He felt it was better to have wealthy people in office as they are less likely to be bribed or corrupted as they already have money. I couldnt believe he said that with a straight face...but he really believes that.

they'll say whatever they think you want to hear, but what they say in public has nothing to do with what they do in the back room. they're liars.

The sad thing is that there are enough "stupid people" to keep electing them. Politics and money corrupt. The term limits would probably cure most of the problem, but there are not any politicians in office that will vote something like that into law. We could fix politics in no time, if the politicians had to live with the same benefits that the average American has to live with. To fix Social Security, make all politicians have to use it also.

That all of them belong in jail, I agree. What I fine perplexing is that when one party is expossed like this the opposite party wants to go for the jugglar. But when it is their own party they tend to ignor it. And visa versa. My elders taught me that it is the act that is wrong, not who does it. And both sides do it! Next comes the question of why is the news media so selective as to who they expose? Answer, it is time to get a new yes man.
