Why do you have the stud shank on her halter?

Stud thingy was only on her for a few minutes, cause she isn't crazy about the water, and Deanna didn't want to get hurt.

That is not our usual mode for her.

    Tom -

It's the chain on the purple thingy on the horses head. It's hooked to the lead rope in order to give the horse's handler better control over an unruly horse. If you tug on the lead rope, the chain creates a momentary sharp discomfort (I always love it when doctors tell me this) on the horse's nose. The horse immediately ceases the unwanted action and asks the handler what she would like the horse to do.
Since the discomfort is quite noticeable, it is not a usual part of the daily attire for a horse.
It is called a stud chain because stud horses (stallions[uncut males]) tend to be less controllable than mares (lady horses).
So my guess Tom, is that, while you may feel one is unneeded for you, your wife/partner/mate/girl would likely want one permanently installed on your nose.

Yes, I am honored to have the best. I certainly don't deserve it. Thank you, Lord.

    Questions ??
