well, like you said, "let me say that I am an animal lover, but I am also a person that thinks human life is so much more valuable." it's all where someone's values are. someone who values the companionship, warmth and friendship of their "pet", would probably throw up when they see someone who doesn't value that relationship, and instead destroys an innocent, friendly creature. I know I would.

some people don't hold fetuses in the same regard as they would a creature that has already been born and developed. that sounds logical to me.

it all depends on what your values are.

I often wonder if I was to make a Cow, Pig, Chicken, Rabbit my pet can I then demand peoples of the world to stop eating them?

also I would like to say that, "considering what life is more valuable" is an entirely different argument than talking about boiling something alive, human, baby, dog, cat or whatever. which is fffffffffing disgusting.

I agree a bit with every statement here. I don't mind someone killing a dog and boiling it, frying it, etc. and then consuming it. But to boil it alive to be a sick bast--d is wrong!

Boiling a dog alive is nothing less then torture and you are right about it being wrong.

that's a good question really. well there's a whole spectrum of life forms. where, exactly, does one draw the line? I think that's what we're talking about.

    humans: old? young? infants? fetuses?
    dog?
    cat?
    horse?
    deer?
    pig/goat/sheep?
    chickens/turkeys/pheasants?
    fish?
    bugs?
    plants?
    amoeba?
    germs?

what would you say doesn't matter if you kill it?
and does it matter if you kill it cruelly?
for your own sick, sadistic, vile... pleasure?

it should be obvious that anybody who doesn't have some kind of value for life below whatever they think is equal to themselves, is a schmuck. 1000x more when they torture it for their own amusement.

........got me to thinking. And its a thought that I've had several times.

Why is it that people get so upset over an animal losing its life, but we don't seem to hear the same outcry when partial birth abortion occurs daily in this country?

Has human life lost that much of its importance?[B)][:0]

    Another thought....

Just because we have domesticated the dog and cat, what makes us think that other people are not above having them served on rice? I honestly think that instead of spending money on humane societies, and spending money on shipping food overseas to people less fortunate, we should kill two proverbial birds with one proverbial stone, and send them the animals Americans have abandoned to give them something to eat.

Now, before the flamers begin, let me say that I am an animal lover, but I am also a person that thinks human life is so much more valuable. Gods greatest gift, second to his Son.

How old were you when yo mama dropped you on your head....?

make a list, "more important" to "least important". where would you draw the line.

for example, I've never heard of somebody getting upset about boiling something to kill the germs.

The belief that men are created in the image of God is just another example of man's vanity.....

I don't like abortion either. There are laws on the books against murder that carry felony charges. It's not PC to enforce them in this situation.

There are only a couple of felony laws on the books about the evils purportrated on animals and the evidence must be very convincing to obtain a conviction.

You folks that value human life over animals are welcome to your beliefs, but I have to wonder if you value your son's life over your daughter's?
How about a family member over a strangers life?

Why then should you think it odd if a person values his dogs life over a stranger? You know your dog, you don't know a stranger.

Absolutely no need to flame anyone, Matwor. Here's my take on it.

Abortion is first and foremost a moral question for all of mankind and not one of religious conviction. By careful and deliberate design, our Country's government must never espouse any relgious beliefs in defining what is and isn't legal under the U.S. Constitution, like it or not.

Funny how most don't want anyone to read anything into the black-letter wording of the Second Amendment BUT some will work long and hard to inject their particular set of religious beliefs and values into some of the other Amendments. We cannot have it both ways.

As I stated in earlier posts, I personally maintain that it is inappropriate and unconscionable for me as a male to want to orchestrate or sit in judgement over what a female chooses to do with or to her own body because of another male's deliberate or heinous or irresponsible actions.

For starters, let's round up all of the two-legged lowlife scumbags with testicles who enjoyed doing the horizontal shuffle, co-created all of the forgotten, abused, neglected and murdered babies and then took the lowest road possible out of there. Let's ask them how they sleep at nights.

How many rapists do we believe actually have remorse for their life-altering deeds? How many come forward and offer to make amends and restitution for their attacks?

The problem is indeed a complex one. But the answer, I maintain, lies solely within the woman who is faced with making that decision. Until the laws of this Nation change, I will not, in good conscience, judge a woman for having a legal abortion.

Just my 2 cents. No malice intended.

The government has no place in determining the validity of a citizen's decision as to whether or not to bring a child to term.

If we accept that the government does have a role in these decisions, then the Father should have the right to determine, as well, whether the baby is permitted to live.

With respect to animal treatment... I view mammals differently than I do other species, in terms of humane treatment. Actually, maybe the word "humane" sets the standard in itself.
