I win with Visa.. Chargeback stands..

I called United Rentals and explained to the Manager what happened when the forktruck was rented. Visa number was on contract receipt. He said that shouldn't have happened but WHO was paying for the rental. I said " You are". He got mouthy so I did the chargeback. Now Visa turns it over to the Fed Trade Commission so they can fine them. Ist offense is 5k. He wouldn't call Visa to remove the charge, So I sent in the paperwork. They took the charge off..$495 buckaroo's

    Matter of fact I have told the new rental company what they done. They told me I can rent anything, anytime off of them. They like a good customer. Done two rentals since with the new company.[:)]

    I have to agree with the majority of the posters here... you got use of the equipment, you owe money. IF someone really did use your card as a result of the sloppiness of the rental company THEY committed a crime and the credit card issuer will take care of it.

    Don't you care about your reputation or honesty in general? So sad that many folks don't these days... and don't be so puffed up about the cars in your pic, they're not that special... and quite possibly not even yours...

    It is amazing to me that you have the audacity to post this as something to brag about or be proud of. In addition, you insult most of us by thinking that we would approve of such behavior on your part. You owe us an apology!!

    Wake up! What you did was to steal from the rental company! Stole from them! Theft! Get it?

    What they did was a foolish clerical oversight. What you did was a moral, ethical and legal wrong. Did you sleep through this part of growing up or what? It is NOT a wonderful thing to screw other people for your own personal gain.

    I'm confused here, how do you rent a forklift and not sign paper work on it and not use a credit card for a deposit? if you signed a contract I'm sure there is another paper or a small subject paragraph on there saying they have rights and can do this or that. Ever rent something at Homede-pot, read the paper right after your contract. They want there money and they will do anything if it comes down to it.

    But i do agree you are right on how they just gave your info out like that. after all this could get them to change there system to not put anything on there except your name, and address like at Home De-pot

    On a different note. Had a card that was denied while in Germany. ATM did't think I should be withdrawing $500.00. Got home and complained to my bank. The little blonde cuttie, yes she was, fixed it. She told me my card limit was now $300,000.00 and no use would be denied. Yes, that's correct. Came home told my wife, who called the bank. Hung up the phone and immediatly cut up my card.
