Hooters wins 3-year battle for beer license in Arlington TX

The beer never stopped flowing at the South Arlington Hooters. But now the restaurant can charge for it.
Its owners - who had been giving away free beer during their fight to get an alcohol license - said in a news release that they won a hearing with the State Office of Administrative Hearings on Monday.
The owners have been fighting to regain their beer and wine license since 2004. During a 30-month period, the restaurant gave away up to two free beers with customers' meals. Owners estimated the value of the beer was $1.2 million.
The restaurant, at Interstate 20 and Little Road, was repeatedly turned down for an alcohol license because of protests from a group called Partnership for Community Values, which opposed Hooters' "sexually charged" atmosphere and its proximity to local high schools.
