When I first got my bike, I was unable to post pictures due to my camera being at the bottom of a very big lake.
A friend of my was nice enough to send me some pictures he took the day I got it.
When I first started riding I was the only girl in the area. Now I'm one of many. I think it's cool that more and more women are riding now.
My bike is a smaller cc's due to the fact I haven't rode in a long time. Now I'm ready for a bigger bike. I want a 'busa, but I've been given the nickname Gixer girl. Which I like. I don't want the nickname 'Busa girl so I'm in a dilema.[V]
Here's my new found freedom. You guys can't imagine what I had to go though to get this thing.

The plain jane GS1000 came before the 1000S. My plain jane 1000 will do well over 150 and can scrape the foot pegs in a turn. Any GS1000, except L models, can be called "Superbikes." Too many people let themselves get fooled by the spoked rims.0 -
Sorry Cat, but your bike doesn't have a "J" in the serial number and no insurance company rates it as a "Sports" bike. Ex: the Kaw GPz and the KZ are very similar, but the GPZ had a faring and more engine performance. Insurance companies demanded a premium for the performance, and thus we had "Crotch Rockets".
PS - ROKON had a rear disk brake on their RT340 in 1971, beating the RD400 by 5 years!0 -

What insurance companies say and what the bike is are two different things. My bike can and does perform. Did I mention it was me on the bike when it was clocked at 155 mph? I wasn't quoting some 30 year old magazine article or sales brochure. Also, it was me who scraped the pegs during turns. Just because it's not GSX, GSX-R, YZF, ZX, or CBR dosn't mean anything.0 -
Straight line speed does not a race bike make. The title of "Worlds fastest production bike" doesn't do squat on a road race course.
I'm not quoting any magazine. I owned a 79 GS1000S and still own a poor old 1982 GPz.
I'm too old to know everything, I'll leave that to you.0 -
I'm not saying that my GS is at the same level as a modern sport bike. I'm just saying that it's no slouch and it still has a few surprises in her. 0 -

When you're ready, look at the ZX14 Kawasaki. It beats the Busa hands down. Better HP, better handling, better brakes, now vib or buzz at 4,000 rpm, just better all the way around.

Y'all are kinda skipping over about 50 years of sports bikes that just happened to be built in Europe and England.
Or can only jap bikes be sports bikes??
Some of those riders back then could eat the lunch of anyone on this forum, with one of those old crocks, on a road course.

I'm not a big Kaw lover. Just never been a fan. I know the ZX14 is a bad bike. I think they used the same engine in one of their jet skis.0 -

My mom and step dad a very good riders. I would go so far as to say they are almong some of the best riders I've ever known. At least for old people they are. And they only ride Aprilia's and Ducati's.0 -

I wasn't either until I rode my buddies. It blows the Hybusa away on every level. You owe it to yourself to try one before you rule it out. There's as much difference as between a Chevy Impala and a Chevy Corvette. It's just unbelievable. The brakes, no "buzz", headlamp, and handling were like no other.0 -

What a great old bike that was, got to love that Hi-Lo range tranny.....
Mine was Blue also, I had a Z1 Cow ordered and when I went to pick it up I noticed the 900 Custom on the floor and immediately changed my mind on the Z1 ....
I rode that monster until 10 years ago, and wish I still had it, but the BB chevy truck is still in the driveway I traded it for.....0 -
The 900 was a great motorcycle.
I bought one from a friend after I hadn't been on 2 wheels for around 2 years - I was pretty excited.
When I rode it home, I found that the vibration in the grips almost paralyzed both my arms. The vibrations were very mild, but I guess some of the things that have gone wrong with me made me super sensitive to them.
So I returned it to him that evening when he got home from work. He gave me all my money back except for $750, which he kept because I had already registered it in my name & he would have to go to DMV to change it.
I guess that was the most expensive vehicle rental I've ever done - more than a plane rental at the time. I had it for six hours, so it cost $125 per hour.
It was black and in absolutely perfect shape, with 3500 miles on it. That happened in 2000.
I haven't ridden since, and I wonder if I ever will again.

I love the Duc's. Have you ever looked at the Aprilia's Cubs. I've drool over the Duc's and Aprilia's for along time every since my mom started riding them.
I love the arrow exhaust.

Yeah, I have. But I really like that underseat exhaust that the Ducati's have. Honda is building one with that style of exhaust now, the CBR1000RR and 600RR. I really like em.
Sooner or later I'll have a bike for play and a bike for cruisin.
A buddy of mine just bought one of these. Best of both worlds...

I have always been with Kawasaki ever since I got a KX-500 dirtbike. I have to post a pic of my bike on here now. The ZX-14 is bad but to this day the fastest accelrating bike I have ever been on was a new style ZX-10R my buddy got new and put some extras on it. That thing in a straight line is a demon and will WAKE you up. Not a fan of the GIXXERS but nice looking bike either way and like someone else here said a hot girl on a hot bike....excellent. The main Suzuki I like is the TL-1000R with a little remapping that thing is a beast. My bike is plenty quick though thats for sure and I havent lost to a Gixxer yet either[:D][:D][}:)][;)] 0 -

Wouldn't that be the Chinese and Koreans? Even the Japs are sub contracting work. Nikon built a Camera factory in Viet Nam (or was it Thailand?).
