I agree 100%...Forget about taking an 30-06 up there to go bear hunting. I say this from personal experience. I was an Alaska Fish and Game protectiion officer in Juneau and knew quite a few bear hunt guides and most either carried a .375 WM or a .458 WM.
I don't know if there's a magic cure for recoil (they both kick like a mule). There could be a chance you won't even feel the recoil when letting loose on a Brown bear. The adrenalin will be flowing like a river.[:)]0 -
A .35 Whelen would work just fine. Or use the .45-70 you already have. 0 -
I want to thank everybody for their imput I called a freind of mine that owns a pawn shop who has been wanting one of my sav99 for years I ended up trading it for cz 550 safri in 375 H&H took it to range not as bad recoil as expected my banged up shoulder made it for about 5 rds. It might take sevral trips to range to get it sighted in next project is decent scope 0 -
I think the CZ 375 is an Excellent choice for Bear.
When it goes down you will be glad you used enough gun.0 -
Very cool trade. I hope that both parties are happy. 0 -
