Does any of you have
a Franchi shotgun? I got one last week for a decent price. Well, me and some of the guys went out today to shoot skeet, and man that gun kicked the poop out of me!! Only shot it three times and I'll have a bruise for a week now[B)] And I was shooting low powered 7 1/2 out of it. If any of you have one, does it kick that bad?
And by the way, ya'll know any one needing a nice gun?

It's a spring gun like the A5, it's gonna "kick". Even moreso being very light. It is very fast however, so use it to hunt birds, not clay pidgeons. 0 -

You're right about that one. Buddy of mine put three shells through it in a blink of an eye. Just kicks to much for my taste.0 -
One one my customers who is a small statured fellow had one with a deer barrel on it. It also kicked the crap out of him. He ended up selling it in my shop. 0 -
I have 2 - 12 & 20. They kill on one end and cripple on the other. That said, there are changes that should be made on the friction ring setup that can help. There is a ring that can be flipped from the flat side to the beveled side that caused the friction ring to be squeezed tighter thus slowing the recoil. If you shoot heavy loads with it setup for light loads the receiver can be damaged along with your shoulder. There used to be a magnum or heavier spring available as well. I had one for my 12. I love my Franchis light & swing great. -Don 0 -
Which model do you have? I have a 48AL and it kicks pretty hard, especially with high-powered shells. But it's nice and light to carry around for pheasant and rabbit hunting. I got mine at a gun show for a decent price, too.

Have a Franchi O/U from the late 60's (Silverking) Also a lot of recoil, but I expect that in an o/u. Two boxes is about all I can handle and end up bruised as well. Patterns beautifully however so it is a fine bird gun. 0 -

I have the same thing. It was the shotgun that I grew up on, so I guess I never really noticed it. I was small framed, and gramps thought it would be easier for me to lug that around all day, and it was. It fits me great, and I wouldn't get rid of it now. People complain to me about how much it kicks, but I don't notice it until I've shot about 75 shells.

I also have the 48AL. I'll be getting rid of it to the first one that wants it. I like that it's lite, but no sense to have something that kicks like a mule.0 -
