Shooter-Lousy Movie
Okay, I know you all like the movie, but I just finished watching it and there was some hollywood crap in there I can't stand.
First, when did they move Camp Lemonier to Ethiopia? It's always been in Djibouti. Djibouti is a country of its own. Kinda takes away the importance of assassinating the Ethiopian prime minister.
Second, if they're supposed to be a USMC sniper team, why the hotel echo double inverted sevens were they wearing Army camo utilities? No Marine would be caught dead in that stuff.
Third, nobody spells out HOA when they're saying Horn of Africa. It's pronounced HOA. Not H-O-A.
Marky Mark looks way too young to be a retired gunny. He looks maybe 32 years old. Nobody retires (after 20 years in the Marine Corps) and looks anywhere near their age. They look 10-15 years older.
The Secretary of State calls him sarge or sergeant at the end of the movie. No gunny is ever going to let that slide no matter who says it.
The rest of my complaints are mostly political. Like Marky-Mark, a convicted felon, possessing a weapon and body armor. The law must not apply to him. Danny Glover can't shut up about hating the US http://www.zwire.com/site/Danny_Glover.html , but acts like this in the movie?
FBI guy wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt? Anybody notice that? You can see it when he's in the phone booth.
For all the movie's faults, the shooting and the explosives are pretty impressive.

I already picked up on all of these discrepanceies and many others, but please realize that this movie was geared towards the 18-25 year old male audience due to its action scenes and 2 hot chicks. Hollywood does not equal accuracy in anything. 0 -

The movie was based on the book "Point of Impact" by Steven Hunter. It is the best book I've read in a long time. It blew the movie AWAY ! 0
