what is the perpose of a flutted barrel
what does the flutted barrel do. i know the heavy barrels are more accurate. but what is the purpose of a flutted barrel

Might not be more accurate but it has more surface area to dissapate heat and because some metal has been removed, it makes the barrel lighter. 0 -

since a nice solid bull bbl keeps the bbl from flexing (harmonics) when fired, bull bbls are prefered over all others. but, they are heavy, so by fluting them, they cut down the weight but retain the strength to keep from flexing, which throws off accuracy. 0 -
