Why?
Is it that every time there is a tv show or a story on tv news someone feels they have to tell everyone on GB about it? Do you think we all live back in the mountains and come out once a week just to check GB for news? I have five tv's and I get two news papers. I read Readers Digest and Time among others. I don't need old news! A lot of us knew about the things you are reporting before you were hatched!
GIVE IT A BREAK!!!

It's one those Murphy's Law things. Along the lines of the $10,000 circuit blows to protect the five cent fuse. 0 -
Ask GWB to speed up global waring so we can dispense with the need of a thermostat. 0 -
The mixture in the battery gets to cold to easily allow the electrons to move preventing the battery from making enough juice to power the device. Your battery was probably close to dead anyway. 0 -

Even when my mercury one got hit by the kids football and broke when it was butt azz cold I just took it off and connected the wires by hand when I wanted the furnace to run.
Don't see why you could not do the same with a battery operated model.0 -
Because it's God's way of keeping you on your toes. 0 -
how about why does my last cigarrette always have to break before I smoke it? That really pisses me off. 0 -
I lost half my thermostat when my mother-in-law died after living here for several years.
Before that, if she was whimpering, "It's cold in here," I knew to throw more wood in the stove. If my wife was whimpering, "Ooh, I'm burning up," I knew to open a window a crack. If both of them were whimpering, I knew the temperature was just right.0 -
Get yourself a Honeywell wind-up model.
