We haven't learned a damn thing.....
My University's revised policy on active shooters...
Active Shooter
1) If you hear gunfire, immediately seek refuge in an area that can be locked from the inside. A room without windows would be the best choice. Hide inside behind a desk, under a table or in a closet or bathroom. Remain still and quiet.
2) If a phone is immediately available in the area you are using for refuge, and if it is safe to do so, call the University Police Department at 3-2035 or 911, If it is safe to do so, stay on the phone with the police dispatcher.
3) Take no action to intervene with the gunman/gunmen/shooter.

Probably the same in every university in America! Heck if 10 people had pepper spray it might have changed the outcome of the shooting.
Too many years of imbreeding among liberal college professors. Almost all teachers in grade schools, high schools and other schools are anti-gun.0 -
Are these instructions for campus security guards or the students? [:D] 0 -

I guess I am REALLY lucky. I know of 3 teachers that have ccws and carry on my daughters campus. Thank God for private schools!0 -

Isn't that EXACTLY what the students at VT did?0 -
Story just on Fox: a guy in Israel is making armored school desks and chairs. The kids can hide under them and pull the chairs up against the desks to make a bunker. Maybe all of our wussy colleges should buy them? 0 -

God had nothing to do with it. But enjoy it while you can, once pinkos take over the whole country they only schools there'll be are those similar to CA schools, with government approved material taught to kids. well it's already happening, just a matter of time now 'till there're no more private schools.0 -
One of the many reasons I refused to live on campus during my College and Grad School days. Kept a rifle and shotgun in my place till age 21 and then added my first few pistols.
I guess they would not have done me any good on campus, but I slept better at night.0 -

Wow... Rack Ops... can you please direct me to your school site so I can show the ******* libtards around here what is being preached to our youth? How the universities are promoting pacifism and teaching our youth to be victims?
Thanks!0 -

Thank you for posting this information which I did not know about. The situation you describe with private schools just might be our pro-gun salvation. If some nut case tries to shootup a private school where the teachers are carrying firearms, hopefully that nut case will be cut down before he gets off even one shot.
I know it is asking a lot of the liberals, but if the above described situation occurs several times across the USA, it just MIGHT change some minds for the better.0 -
The first two are logical, and maybe even the third to a degree. If I were in that situation, say in a classroom, and heard many shots being fired down the hall, what would I do... go out into the open hallway to confront the gunman with my 5 shot .38 snubby? No, I would take a defensive position with my weapon ready to defend myself just as I have been trained to do. Now if the opportunity were there that I could take out the gunman I certainly would. But aggressively pursueing one or more heavily armed assailants with my 5 shooter would most likely prove to be a bad idea. 0 -

This is how everyone at VT died. I would recommend a slight revision. My suggestions for your reading pleasure.

If you hear gunfire, immediately seek refuge in an area that is occupied by a person who can defend themselves. Hide inside behind a desk, under a table or in a closet or bathroom if you want to be killed. Remain still and quiet so others may not hear what's happening to you and offend their delicate sensibilities.
If a phone is immediately available in the area you are using for refuge, and if it is safe to do so, call the University Police Department at 3-2035 or 911, If it is safe to do so, stay on the phone with the police dispatcher. They can protect you over the phone.
Take no action to intervene with the gunman/gunmen/shooter. Eight or ten of you should not try to rush him or anything. He'll get to you soon enough.0 -

Hehehe. I love the biting sarcasm in red above. I would just add for them to wait their turn like the good little victims the liberals want us to be because, yes, the crazed shooter WILL get to them soon enough.0 -

Yea, this is my third year living off campus (I had to live in the dorms my first year), from my window I have a clear line of site at the drive way, and have some 3 inch 00 buck and .22lr rounds to give anyone that comes to do harm. No pistols despite turning 21 a couple months ago due to money.
No help on campus, but I minimize my time there. I also always sit right by the door, I'll be the first one out if there is gunfire in the distance, and if my room is the first one hit, at least he won't have a range advantage, I might be able to tackle him as he comes in the door(assuming only 1 male shooter, if theres 2- I'm totally screwed), hopefully all it would take is one person taking action, I would hope if someone takes the shooter to the ground, others would help try and subdue him.
Of course all the rooms have two doors, if they come in the front and Im at the back... first one out.
I would have to say I would only choose fight over flight if they are between me and my closest exit.
One things for damn sure, I wouldn't just sit under my desk and cower.0 -
10 ft. rule. If he ain't pointing and shooters attention is not on you and he's within 10 ft........tackle the SOB and gouge his friggin' eyes out. 0 -
doesn't anyone carry a knife any more? are they even legal on campuses, say a 3-4in lock blade, or are they outlawed as dangerous assualt weapons,[ mine is black[:0][:0]] 0 -
Be good little sheeple. It's a good thing liberals have shoulders, they can only get their heads so far up their azzes. 0 -
liberals are amusing: if there's an uprising against soc-dem-libs, how the hell are they going to fight with God fearing armed right-wing gun-nuts? they must be stupid, to say the least... 0 -
