Albany Mayor to Introduce Gun-Control Proposal
NSSF has learned that Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings is planning to introduce a gun-control proposal that could be voted on as early as tomorrow. The proposal, which has not yet been made public, reportedly will:
* Require registration of ALL firearms within the city (this includes currently owned handguns and long guns)
* Outlaw private gun sales
* Require dealers to keep records on all sales and require them to report that information to police
* Ban "high caliber" ammunition, including 9mm and .357
* Mandate that gun owners keep firearms locked up
The Common Council could vote on the proposal as early as tomorrow. Albany residents are encouraged to contact Mayor Jennings at (518) 434-5100 and voice opposition not only to these unnecessary measures, but to the mayor's refusal to allow the public to see this proposal before it is voted on by the council.

Since when is 9mm "high caliber"
Some people just need wiped off the face of the earth.0 -
* Mandate that gun owners keep firearms locked up
Efeectively making it illigal to be able to defend your self in your own home from an intruder.
They'll most likely just post an armed guard outside everyone's home to protect them seeing how they want their citizens to be defensless.
What a bunch of idiots!0 -
You can bet that the idiot mayor of New York City is behind this move. He has been pushing all Mayors that came to his big Mayor's meeting to do this. This may be in reaction to what is beginning to happen in DC to support a position against recent appeals court ruling.
This needs to get to the Supreme Court and get settled once and for all. Either we have a second amendment and these liberal judicial legislators are told to back off or we will continue to face this liberal agenda that is festering in all of our big cities.0 -
Its the beginning of the end. I thought all dealers already had to keep records ? See ya later B&J. 0 -
"High caliber"??
What the hell is "high caliber"??
A caliber that will only function above 50,000 feet, or what??
This reminds me of the old movies where people were always yapping about "high-powered" rifles.
And they wonder why we don't respect government, politicians, and lawyers.

I saw a short segment about this on the news tonight. Mayor AHOLE Jennings said "I want to know how many guns are in the city of Albany". My response is "I want to know how many crack pipes there are in the city of Albany". Why can't the politicians figure out that tougher gun laws will not keep illegal guns out of Albany ? 0
