Trimmed trees today with a 12 gauge.
Had some long branches hanging over the shed and the old cabin. Trimmed them with number 7 shot in a 12 gauge. Each branch took about 2 shots..What a fun way to trim trees, I found the smaller shot works better with a tight choke. Anyone trimmed trees like this before?

Yup ,blew a branch off a tree
overhanging where a pool was to go.
Went up to oldest daughter's
bedroom window and had at it
with 12 -oo buck. Took more shots
than I thought it would though,

Some guys have all the luck and fun. Sure wish I could trim my trees with my firearms instead of climbing a ladder with a chain saw or branch trimmer. I had a big branch hanging over where we park our cars at, was worried would fall when a storm blew through. I sure would have liked to take the AK out a let the rounds fly.[:p] 0 -
We have cut trees down with a 45-70. I used to do alot of trimming with the 9422 0 -
I've got a biologist buddy who does research on the sugars in the leaves at the tops of trees. I asked him if he used a shotgun. No, he prefers a .22 because with a shotgun, you're not exactly sure which branch you're getting[:0] 0 -

You mean as a moderator YOU will not tolerate sarcasm? I maen you do have to have some small amount of English for this job (Spanish also works). Be forwarned that I do not tolerate the lack of tolerance to sarcasm. That could ruin my whole day. That has happened around here too.
Once took a cat out of a tree with a 12 guage, she wouldn't come down, wife got all teared up, got the branch right behind the cat. Cat rode the branch to the ground, got off and ran to the woods, didn't come back for a couple of days.0 -

my dad had a treestand built in an old grown up fence row between 2 fields at the farm we used to hunt, about this time of year he'd go out with the 12 ga and some 7's and climb into his stand and prune the branches as he called it, any that were in the line of sight for the honeyholes where the deer came out of the treeline on the edges of the fields he pruned for hunting season 0
