Elk Sr. scores BIG BULL!! (pics)
A step by step guide to hunting elk.
Step 1: Select a rifle. A Remington model 700 7mm Mag. firing Federal Premium 160 gr. Nosler partitions.

Step 2: Select a hunting location.

Step 3: Assemble a scouting and packing crew.

Don't forget the camp cook.

Step 4: Select old pickup truck to drive through the oak brush.

Step 5: Set camp.

Step 6: Locate big 6x6.

Step 7: Shoot him at 75 yards after 1 mile sneak. Field dress (GRD take notes), hang the quarters and pack out the antlers, back straps, and tender loins.

Step 8: Send the pack crew in to get him out.
Empty.

Loaded.

Step 9: Elk Sr. poses for pictures.

Elk Jr. wanted a pic too.

Step 10: Break camp in the snow and go home.

This one is quite a bit bigger than the one I shot during the muzzle loading season. NICE JOB DAD!

Great post. Was the camp cook his grandson? Three generations on a elk hunt, very cool. I missed my trophy this year at 325 yrds. I am just not good enough to have 3 seconds to aim and shoot at 300yrds. 0 -
Awesome! Congrats and thanks for sharing. 0 -

Yes a three generation elk hunt. We have had elk jr. in camp for at least a day or two for three seasons.
300 yards and three seconds is tuff work. Sounds like you made the right decision to not rush a bad shot.0 -
