Winchester 1895 (US Marked) carbine

I Purchased a Winchester 1895 Carbine with US Stamped on the Receiver. Serial number 17961 - Cal 30 Govt. the only info I can find is that the Govt purchased 10,000 1895 Muskets - any info on US Property Market 1895 Carbines? Thanks in advance.
