How Honest Are You?
If you ordered something like 1000 rounds of Wolf ammo for 150.00 and the company shipped 2000 and still only charged you 150.00 would you call and ask whats up?

We bought minoes at the local gas station for fishing, instead of a dozen, they gave us two. we went and paid them for the extra dozen. they didnt believe we paid for bait THEY made a mistake on.

I would....I have always lived by the rule If it is not mine I do not want it or want it around me.
People screw up and when they do they often have to pay for the screw up. Recently at my bank, the teller gave me 100.00 too much.
When I told her she messed up , she questioned it but I gave her the 100.00 anyway. A few day later, I stopped by to do some business and she thanked me saying her drawer came out correctly. IF it had been off 100.00 she would have had to pay.0 -

A man has to decide at what price he will sell his reputation. For some, it's a dollar too much in change. For others, is change for a twenty when they only gave the clerk a ten. For others, it's 10. hours overtime pay when only 1.0 was worked. I guess for some, it could be $150 worth of misshipped ammo. I hope no one here is willing to sell out at those prices.[V] 0 -

Honestly, I dunno. Squawk if I was billed at a later date for the extra ammo? Then have them take it back? Sounds like a lot of hassle either way.

Let me illustrate what I would do by telling a story that really happened to me. Last fall I ordered probably around $1500 worth of stuff from Cabelas. One of the items that I ordered was a Cabelas Outfitters "trigger skinner" skinning knife with a really pretty wood laminate handle. They accidentally sent me TWO of these and they run around $50-$60. I called them up and informed them of their mistake and asked them what they wanted me to do. They told me to keep the knife so I never looked back. Be honest. Let the company pay the costs to recoup the loss of their mistake if they want it shipped back. More than likely they'll tell you to keep the goods. 0 -
Yep, I do the same with getting more change back than I should. I always look at it like I'm selling by integrity for a couple bucks if I keep my trap shut. 0 -
If I do business with a company I want to keep things on "good terms." If they send you something and it is wrong....you not only are doing the right thing by correcting the mistake...but you also get brownie points.
I ship a lot of packages...not long ago the lady who helped me gave me too much change. I didn't know how much but I knew what she gave me had to be wrong. I keep some money in my pockets so when she gave me the money it just went in with the rest. I just called and said "when you settle your drawer it may be wrong." She insisted that there wasn't a problem.....but at 5:00 I got a call. She was $43.00 short. I told her I would bring it to her the next day. Things are good.0 -

My story: I got in a freakin argument with a resturant manager once because I gave back money when too much change was given. He gave me $10 back instead of a $5...I tried to explain what happened by handing him the 10 and saying "gimmee a 5"...he goes "what is this some kind of trick"...I got PO'd and things went downhill from there.0 -

While I do not agree with Tobefree on the religous part, I certainly agree that one cannot be a "little honest" any more than a little pregnant. You are or you are not.
If they shorted you 1000 rounds you had paid for would you be here asking if you should call and let them know?

The right thing is to tell them. The golden rule and all. There are more honest folks than the media would demonstrate. Honest Joe stories don't sell newspapers/magazines. 0 -
Then there's the other side....I was paying for my meal at a steakhouse one time, in the cashier line, you know how it is, and when looking down, saw a twenty dollar bill lying on the floor. I picked up, and doing my best to be honest, turned to the guy behind me and said, "Did you lose this twenty dollar bill?" He said, "Yep, sure did". So I handed it to him.
It was during dessert I figured out he probably wasn't the one who dropped it after all, since I was in front of him, and the bill was on the floor in front of me....okay, so I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I'm an honest dull blade.
And in the same vein, I don't believe in lying. I figure it's wrong, and just won't do it. So, I figured out, a long time ago, that if I didn't do the things that make lying the best way out if I'm caught, then I wouldn't need to lie.
So, I don't run around on the wife, cause you can bet she'd ask, and I'd have to lie. I pay my taxes, do my job properly, and go out of my way NOT to do the things that make lying easier than telling the truth.
I learned that (from a negative sense) from a brother-in-law (now dead) who one fellow described as, "....would rather climb a telephone pole to tell a lie, than stand on the ground to tell the truth".

I bought two $99.00 sets of tools at Sears once. One for a Christmas present, and one for myself. Coincidentally, I got the same set for Christmas. When I went to return the extra set, there was a group of sales people standing in a circle 20 feet away, chatting about their weekend. I looked at my watch, and waited a full 10 minutes before I finally went up and asked one of them to do the return. He looked annoyed, took the receipt, scanned it, handed me the copy to sign, and I saw that he just scanned it as a total return, and refunded the price of both tool sets. In that case, I said to myself "screw 'em".
If the mom and pop store gives me an extra quarter in change, I give it back. If a business hires employees that couldn't be bothered to do their job, and protect their interests, and looks annoyed when I ask them to complete a transaction, and they screw it up to my advantage, then blast me if you will, but I kept the extra.0 -

It was just a hypothetical question about honesty I figured the members here could relate to.
I didn't get a free 1000 rounds of Wolf.
It is my observation in dealing with firearms and legit firearm community that this is some of the most honest and trustworhty people to deal with.
Now if I asked the same type question of a forum for car saleman what would the outcome be?0 -

In my opinion, business folks should be about their business....I have to go to the local Wal-Mart no fewer than 3 to 5 times, just to buy a box of ammo.
Apparently, their entire sport's department is a step-child, uncared for, unattended, unappreciated, and who cares? They don't, that's for sure.
And it gets tiresome, having to go to the automotive department, waiting in line forever, just to get them to use the PA in order to get someone to show up at the sport's counter. It's almost as bad as their live fish/aquarium department.
Went to the fish department one time, and found a label prominently displayed by someone who had used a computer to print up, that said, "Thanks, but Wal-Mart doesn't care enough to staff this department. You can probably do better at K-Mart anyway".
Want to guess where we went to buy fish for the wife's aquarium?
