    What do you guys think of a desert eagle for hunting?

    Have any of you guys or gals shot a Desert Eagle? Are thay anything othr than a big gun in a big caliber? They look to be built well, but I have never realy heard much imput about them.

    I posted this on the experts board, and so far no responses. I know this board gets a lot more traffic, so I'll try it here as well.

    I have a Desert Eagle in .44 mag that keeps coming apart when fired.

    The firing pin, firing pin spring, bolt stabilizing pin, spring and guide, bolt guide pin and firing pin stop all fall out of the gun, leaving the bolt stuck in the barrel with a live round inside.

    Anyone know why this keeps happening, and how to fix it ?

    This was picked up on a trade, and now I have an idea why the guy traded it [}:)]

    Send it back to Desert Eagle...they will fix it. I had a .440 Corbon come apart on me and they repaired it for me.
