Good 9-11 Story
This was a true email sent to me by my sister.
So, listen to my morning....I don't have a travel mug so everyday I take my coffee to work in a regular mug...and usually finish it by the time I arrive. I was actually going to be early...on-time this morning. I was getting into my car at 8:30 when my hand slipped and I spilled half my cup of coffee...I yelled out (without realizing it) "DAMMIT" (which actually reminded me of the way my father would yell it...hehehe Sorry, Dad). I didn't get it on the seat...just on the floor of the car and on the lower half of my black pants. I ran inside, grabbed a towel to wipe off my pants (since black wouldn't show the stain), re-filled my coffee, and used some paper towels to wipe up the car floor. Attempt #2 - I sat down in the seat and my elbow slipped...this time spilling the entire cup in my lap, on my shirt, and ALL OVER the drivers seat (puddled up on the seat). Trent (boyfriend) heard me SCREAM OUT "DAMMIT" (...more profanities the greater the spill) and ran outside to see what happened (I wonder what the neighbors think). He told me to run back in, change, and he would clean the car. Upon my returning to the car he had me put a towel on the seat since it was still soaked deep with coffee and cleaning products. Driving to work I could feel the puddle seeping into the butt of my pants. My mom told me on the cell that it was God's way of not wanting me in a location at a specific time b/c maybe I avoided a car accident, or something. Well, God had the last laugh when I got out of the car at work (holding my unfinished coffee) and for the THIRD time of the morning, dropped it....this time it sprayed the front of my newly-changed pants before the mug crashed and shattered in the parking lot...I stood there laughing (and late). Not to mention, there was a class this morning at work, so everybody was probably wondering why I had wet-ass (of course the coffee seeped through the towel on the seat). So, that's how my morning has been.
The moral of the story...so what! It is September 11th and my morning has been a hill of beans in comparison to what happened 6 years ago. So what if I have to walk around with a wet, stained diaper-butt today? Remember people....things could always be worse! Be grateful....even for your so-called "bad" days because some people are denied the privilege of having the opportunity to have a bad-day.
I thought it might make some of you realize that life is worth it and you should be thankful every day !
