    I tried this from our management console in the data center. We have dual 1GB fibre connections in an active/passive failover configuration. I got the following but it is probably not correct because it is likely the Speakeasy servers cannot handle the speed we have on our end.

    Upload Speed: 4757 kbps (594.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

    off-topic: speakeasy sucks. been their customer since 2001 and they stuck with a "disconnection" bill once i moved after sales rep lied that there wouldn't be a 12 months contract.

    Tried wildblue once, and watching video was great. Just cruising the
    net was even worse than my dialup.

    On one test site, I got 21463 DOWN and 562 UP. On the other one, I got 16623 DOWN and 562 UP. Guess I can count on the 562 UP, eh?

    1326/705 at work. Our IT guys are SCREAMING at the folks who run the college that the servers and infrastructure haven't been updated since 1998; this speed is with no students on campus- when they're here, my dial up modem is faster.

    I've downloaded full DVD images (Free software like Debian Linux) when students are gone in 30 minutes....
