OLD FLY TRICK
A now deceased friend showed me this trick over 50 years ago.He would catch a fly in a mason jar.He would fill the jar full of water so there was no air left in it.He would let the jar set for about a hour. Then he would drain all the water out and set the fly on ground and cover it with salt. After a few minutes the salt would start moving.Shortly after this the fly would crawl out of the salt and fly away.Anybody ever see this before ?

My BIL used to work with me, he would catch a fly, make a leash out of a piece of his hair, and tape the other end of the hair down to his work bench, he would call it his pet fly[:D]
Don0 -
We used to do that in school just to freak out the good looking teacher. Probably should have spent my time paying attention 0 -
This is childish but
years ago when I worked
30 guys to a section
we would get bored and
we would catch a fly
put it in a small container
of sorts and blow pipe smoke
into it until the fly "passed
out" and then we would attach
with thread little pieces of
tin foil ,revive the fly
and it would fly around like
one of those planes with a sign
attached to it.-Simple minds I guess.
I got laid off ,got a new job
now I have to work.0 -
I remember the salt trick but do not know if I ever had it work. I do remember tying the hair around the fly. My son is reading this with me and is now running around tring to catch flies and I know is going to pull a long hair out of his sisters head to use for the leash[:D] 0 -
My mom told me about that trick, then I did it a few times. Then I showed it to some friends. Then group mentality set in and we did some rather sadistic things we really shouldn't have done to the fly while it was "passed out", such as removing wings, etc..... 0 -
(I'll never worry about my sanity again![:o)]) 0 -
works on frozen flies too
how do you get a {insert ethnic of your choice here} pregnant?
c*m in her shoe, and let the flies do the rest0 -
And I thought I needed help........[:o)] 0 -

If a fly doesn't have wings, is it called a "walk" [?]0 -
What if a fly without wings that is now called a walk and steps into a wok.Is he or she now called a fry if it were in Japan ?

I just love these educational threads.
I never realized that the GB'ers were so involved
with intellectual endeavors.[:o)]0
